TRAILER TEST

For people who passed their test after 1st January 1997 the licensing rules for individuals obtaining their Category B car licence and who want to tow a trailer changed.

All people that have passed their standard car driving test after the above date are required by law to take a further test  if they wish to tow trailers or caravans where the gross train weight of the vehicle and trailer is above 3500kg This would include most horse box trailers and large plant trailers etc.

More information regarding the current regulations can be found on the DVLA website—www.dvla.gov.uk or www.direct.gov.uk.

There are a number of companies that offer excellent training for the new test.
