New Driving Test 2010

The biggest change in the driving test for a number of years is due to take place in October 2010.

The main changes are that "independent driving" is introduced to the test. This will take the form of either an instruction to "follow the signs to such and such a place" or a set of instructions as to the directions to take for the next few junctions.

Trials of the new test in it's final format have not affected "pass rates" in those trials.

In addition, the number of manoeuvres to be tested is reduced just one.
