Your examiner will ask you to pull up at the side of the road and will explain what he wants you to do. In a normal driving situation, you would need to ensure that the place was safe, legal and convenient. In brief...
TURN ONE
Preparation - set the gas and find biting point. If facing downhill you will not need to do this but rather will have your clutch right down and foot gently on the brake.
Observation - look all round - all mirrors and blind spot. When it's clear ...
Manoeuvre - get the car moving slowly and steer quickly right (full right lock)
Before you reach the kerb (don't hit it!) straighten the steering to the left. At the appropriate time depending on the speed of the car and slope of the road, squeeze the clutch down and brake. It's best now to put the handbrake on to secure the car.
TURN TWO
Preparation as above
Observation - up and down the road and very importantly, out of the back window. If it's clear...
Manoeuvre - steer quickly left, looking over your left shoulder out of the back window. When about ½ way across the road start steering right, look over your right shoulder to judge how far back to go and as appropriate squeeze clutch down and brake gently to a stop.
TURN THREE
Preparation
Observation
Manoeuvre - steer quickly right. You should then be able to continue up the road. Check your mirrors as you do so. If you cannot get round in three, make it a "five-point" turn, following the above procedure. You do not autmaticaaly fail for making it a five point turn, but normally you should be able to do it in three.
Do it like this and you're in trouble!
Now this is more like it!
