DSA introduced inflation busting test fees in April 2009. Depite "consultation" with the driver training industry, the DSA intoduced the fee increase regardless of objections as they have to "balance the books". In fact they have no competition and can effectively charge what they like.
At £62, the driving test costs 3 times as much as the average driving lesson. The driving test lasts 38-40 minutes. Driving lessons usually last one hour.
